TOTLAND COASTGUARD COTTAGES

These cottages at Totland have recently been smartened in appearance, now being used as private accommodation. High on the cliff, an ideal position for their original purpose, a wonderful view right around the Bay at Totland and all the way to the southern coast of the mainland.

The picture (right) is the view of Totland Pier, just down from the cottages, on the esplanade.  The south coast of the mainland is on the skyline in the distance.

Another view from the cottages, this is Totland Bay at its best, a good place for families to enjoy the beach, swimming and water sports.  A far cry from the smuggling activites that the coastguards of old were constantly watching for.
